Event overview

New for 2025, this friendly weekday endurance challenge invites runners, walkers, and hikers of all abilities to test themselves on a flexible six-hour format. Whether you’re fitting it around shift work, school runs, or simply fancy a midweek adventure, you decide how far to go — from a single 5K lap to as many as you can complete between 9am and 3pm.

Based at the welcoming Green Table Café at Dartington Hall, you’ll enjoy hot drinks, great food, and a cosy spot to rest between laps — complete with a wood-burning stove if the weather turns chilly. Every lap helps raise funds for the new Dartington playground, so your miles truly make a difference.

The scenic 5K route blends gravel paths, grass, a touch of tarmac, and the occasional splash of mud, with one satisfying climb per lap to keep things interesting. Whether you’re chasing distance goals, training for something bigger, or just out for a social run, it’s a relaxed, community-spirited day on Devon’s beautiful trails — and yes, dogs are welcome too!

Overview

Each 5K lap takes you on a scenic loop around the Dartington Estate, following a mix of gravel tracks, grassy paths, and short stretches of tarmac. The course winds through peaceful woodland and open parkland, offering views of the beautiful Devon countryside as you make your way around. It’s mostly flat and runnable, with one decent hill per lap.

The terrain can get muddy in places, especially after rain, so trail shoes are recommended for grip and comfort. With the Green Table Café as your base, you can rest, refuel, and soak up the friendly atmosphere between laps before heading back out onto the trails. Whether you’re pushing for distance, enjoying a social run, or simply taking in the views, it’s a rewarding and varied route that captures the best of Dartington’s natural beauty.
