Despite its location in the UK, the difficulty of this trek should not be underestimated as it requires you to trek through the night, with tough ascents and descents, with the added challenge of walking in the dark. The route is predominantly on good paths, but it's the variation of footpaths that makes this challenge a unique and fun experience.

The challenge organisers are committed to sustainable and responsible tourism. For this challenge in particular, they liaise with the rangers of the Snowdonia National Park to make sure that impact on the local environment is minimised. The leaders care passionately for the environment and will be keen to talk to you about how you can do your bit to conserve the local area and enhance your experience.
The national park rangers would like everyone to adhere to the following requests so that this challenge creates as little disturbance to the local area as possible:
You are also encouraged to spend a little extra time in the local area to support the local economy. Why not consider booking an extra night in a local B&B, and go out for a meal in one of the excellent local pubs after the challenge? Not only will you be able to celebrate your achievements but you will also be putting more money back into the local area.
You'll be part of a unique group of like-minded challengers that will be fundraising to support people living with cancer β creating a friendly, supportive atmosphere for an unforgettable experience.
As part of Team Macmillan, you'll receive:
Sign up today and pledge to raise funds. This could pay for a Macmillan nurse for 10 hours, helping people living with cancer and their families receive essential medical, practical and emotional support.
You'll have reason to keep going because you'll know that you're helping improve the lives of people living with cancer. Donations make up 98% of the charity's annual income so their vital work wouldn't be possible without you.
There are many different ways you can raise money for Macmillan. If you don't know what you want to do, there are lots of charity fundraiser ideas to help inspire you. Whatever you choose to do, the charity will support you the whole way.
Your money helps the charity provide a variety of services which help make sure no one has to go through cancer alone. The charity relies on fundraisers for 98% of their support so you really are very important.
If you feel you won't be able to meet your fundraising pledge through donations from friends and family, then organising a local event such as a supermarket collection, cake sale or raffle, can all be great ways to give your fundraising a final boost.
The charity is also happy to accept personal donations, should you wish to pay the sponsorship yourself β but this is not, in any way, mandatory.
Remember you have up to a month after the challenge to submit your funds! Please note that there is a minimum fundraising pledge for this event.
