Event overview
If you like beautiful races in beautiful places, like fun, like medals and like goodies, then this event is for you.
With distances ranging from 5k to Ultra, all along the flat, even towpath, this out-and-back event is perfect for runners of all abilities, from novices to Ultra PB chasers!
A popular event and a return to the Leeds Liverpool canal, this time just outside Bingley. The tow path on this event is great underfoot, so this flat outback (if you don’t mind 3-Rise and 5-Rise Locks) is maybe the one that allows you to push yourself to the next distance. For this chip-timed event, all you have to do is choose one of the six distances available.
Come along in your best festive fancy dress!

This event is part of the It's Grim Up North calendar of runs, offering a range of distances and levels of difficulty so there is something for everyone.
Famous for its low-key approach, all runners will be greeted with a warm smile and friendly chat.
The aim is to get you out running, help you enjoy the beautiful countryside with great camaraderie and for you to experience the sense of well-being you get when you cross that finish line.
Having completed your race the type of goodies everyone wants will await you!
You'll be shown that the North is anything but Grim.

Great event. Well organised and a fabulous atmosphere. The food at the end was brilliant. A really nice touch. Sarah W
Absolutely fantastic event with seamless organisation! Even the pre-race heavy rain did nothing to detract from it. Loved the medal and post-race food and goodies!! Martin F

My 1 st time doing a 10k, really enjoyed it, well organised event. Lovely treats at the end, Thank you to the Staff! I look forward to booking another one next year! Louise F
As always with the IGUN events, this was a very well organised and friendly race, with great support at the drink stations and plenty of goodies on offer at the end of the race. On this occasion, the only slight negative was the bottle-neck at the start of the race, where the canal towpath was too narrow for the 10K and marathon runners all starting at once, although this probably affected the 10kers more than marathoners! Keith R
Really enjoyed my first It’s Grim Up North event in Bingley. The course wasn’t congested; there were less people running than I expected… maybe because of the rain first thing? But because of this and the great organisation the registration was easy, portaloos in good condition and there was no stress. The marshalls were all friendly too. Thank you for a lovely event. Jennifer P
