Event overview

Starting near the heart of Sherwood Forest, the route keeps mostly to forest trails and footpaths. You'll pass Thoresby Estate, through Creswell Crags, and skirt the Welbeck Estate. The 40 miler drops deeper into the forest and passes The Major Oak. Ideal for first-time ultra runners or experienced athletes chasing a trail PB on runnable terrain. Fully marked route with tape & arrows. Well-stocked aid stations throughout. Medal for all finishers. Hot soup, tea & coffee at finish. Vegan food available (milk for hot drinks). Free parking at start.
