Event overview

This race was previously hosted by the National Trust and is a very popular and challenging half marathon. Set on the scenic Durham Coastal Path. Whether you are starting out on the trails for the first time, or wanting to race this course for an event PB, this is for you. The course is entirely off road, it is extremely challenging and very scenic. It is characterised by gently undulating sections along the cliff top coastal path interspersed with challenging descents and ascents through a series of denes. There are many steps to tackle along the way (approx 320). There is also a section through the picturesque woodland of Hawthorn Dene nature reserve. The course is approximately 13.1 miles and has been measured using GPS. A free shuttle bus takes runner from the race finish back to the race start/parking area. This truly is a fabulous fun trail event.
