Starting just beyond Newburn Leisure Centre, the run takes in the old Railway line from Newburn to Wylam passing the birthplace of George Stephenson. Runners then make their way over Wylam Bridge before heading back to the finish which is now on the grounds of the Newcastle University Rowing Club. A 5 miles out and back course using the flat tarmac path along the Newburn Riverside Park and Wylam Waggonway. Keeping to the North side of the river, runners return back down the Waggonway and River Tyne Footpath towards the finish line. A P.B. awaits!
