Event overview

The ultra we’ve been promising since day one. The full Esk Valley Way, from source to sea! Starting in Castleton, you’ll tackle a 15-mile loop before tracing the Esk River all the way to the coast. By the time you reach the finish, the only way forward is into the North Sea itself. Depending on the weather, that final plunge might feel like a blessing. Expect checkpoints throughout, tons of local support, and a community that treats this race like their own. It’s our backyard and by the end, it’ll feel like yours too. Buses will collect runners from the finish in the morning and bring you to registration, so admin stays minimal. The Esk Valley train line runs all day into the evening so there is options to get to and from the start/finish from any village along the way if needed. Meaning anyone attempting the ultra has multiple safety nets to get them back if they wanted, perfect if this is your first! This one’s been brewing for years. Now it’s real. Get ready! It’s one to be excited for.
