Event overview

The event runs along a great, traffic-free, flat route along the footpath and cycle track of the River Exe and Exeter Canal. Set in one of the South West’s most active cities, there will be plenty of beautiful locations to admire along the course, for both runners and those coming to support you along the way. The Marathon is the perfect opportunity to inspire yourself and others and run for a good cause. Why not take on the challenge and raise funds for ourselves, our charity partners or a charity close to your heart. The race is open to runners aged 18 years and over. The maximum time permitted for completing the distance is six hours, and there will be timed cut-off points along the route for runners unable to maintain the minimum expected pace. As always, our runners will not only leave with the pride of having completed a marathon, they’ll also get their very own Marathon medal and finishers’ t-shirt! Alongside the Marathon we are holding a 5 mile event. Our aim is always to encourage as many participants as is possible for our events and to cater for all abilities, this 5 mile run allows flourishing runners to take part and also some of our younger runners. The route will take you along the Exeter Quayside, through the scenic Riverside Valley Park and back to the finish line at Haven Banks to pick up your medal.
