Gather your friends, families and colleagues or opt for a solo adventure while fundraising for a fantastic cause.
Join the Great Strides™ community on Facebook and get chatting to fellow walkers! There’ll be plenty of people who are in the same boat as you and will be looking for other trekkers to walk with. Many walkers arrange to meet for training walks ahead of the challenge. Team CF will be there supporting you along the way!
Here is a guideline itinerary from a previous year:
Walkers will depart in three waves, to minimise congestion at gates and stiles.
At the event there is free camping available with basic facilities. On the day there will also be food outlets, music, seating and a bar to enjoy at the end of your challenge.
Follow a circular route starting from the Brecon County Showground. You'll undertake an unforgettable journey along beautiful hillsides, through this spectacular National Park, climbing to the top of it's highest point (Pen y Fan), whilst marvelling at the spectacular rural scenery that lines the route from start to finish.
Bespoke training for Great Strides™ is provided by the friendly personal trainer, Graeme, from GH Training.

Watch videos about injury prevention, stretching tutorials and training tips, or download training plans specifically for treks.
Breakfasts and post-walk dinner will be available at the Great Strides™ event village to purchase. It is recommended that you bring your own water and snacks for the day.
Help fund cutting edge research into new therapies and treatments for cystic fibrosis by taking part in Great Strides™!
Since 2012, the charity has raised over £700,000 tackling the great outdoors with the Great Strides™ walking series.
Money raised through events like Great Strides is essential to unite people to stop cystic fibrosis. The community will improve care, speak out, support each other and fund vital research towards effective treatment for all. The Cystic Fibrosis Trust won't stop until everyone can live without the limits of cystic fibrosis.
When you sign up for Great Strides™, you will automatically receive your JustGiving fundraising page so you can start fundraising straight away!
Fundraising is all part of the challenge and there are lots of ideas to help you reach your target. Every pound you raise will help the Cystic Fibrosis Trust unite for a life unlimited for everyone with CF.
14-17 year olds must be accompanied by a parent or guardian throughout the challenge.
We enjoy the challenge of this kind of event and love the CF community coming together - both walkers and supporters. When the walk gets tough, I remind myself that those with cystic fibrosis face daily challenges and that I can get through this one day! Denise, Walley’s Walkers
Do it! You will have a fabulous time, you’ll get fitter and you will really get to know your team mates better! And best of all, you’ll raise lots of money towards the work of the CF Trust. Mandy
I loved the freedom of walking. I loved all the fresh air and really didn’t mind what the weather was like. It’s such an amazing sense of achievement when you finish. Gayle
