Event overview

One of South West London’s major running events, the Hampton Court Half Marathon is highly rated as preparation for a spring marathon or a major distance race in its own right.

The race takes place in the run up to the Brighton Marathon and the TCS London Marathon, making it an ideal target race in the training build-up to these events.

Runners enjoy an initial closed road loop around the picturesque village of Thames Ditton, pass through the historic Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames ancient marketplace, follow the iconic 3-mile stretch of the Barge Walk beside the Thames, and reach the magnificent Hampton Court Palace after 10 miles. The route follows closed roads, pavement, pedestrian/cycle track, riverside way, and tarmac paths through parks and is well recognised for its PB potential.

All finishers will receive a top technical t-shirt and a super race medal once over the finish line.

Very well organised event on a beautiful route - would thoroughly recommend. Sarah A

This is a great half marathon for beginners and pros. Nice flat course, good location with views of the River Thames and Hampton Court Palace. Marshals are all very good, show you where to go and cheer you on. Anne B

I will be coming back again! The race was very well organised, no problems at all! The baggage was not a long queue, there were clear signs and helpful marshals for directions, and a flat course for PBs. Oh and of course, what's better than high-fiving the Royal Henry VIII by Hampton Court Palace? It was a fun race, and I would highly recommend it! Vanessa

Great event and highly recommended. Great views and very well organised. Definitely doing it next year. Aaron I

This is a really great race.....very flat so ideal for PBs but also well organised with lots marshalls. The goody bag and T-shirt this year was excellent too, would highly recommend this race as part of your London marathon preparation. Mark J

Fantastic event, cannot fault the organisation and the friendliness and helpfulness of the marshals. The park and ride worked very well. Waved start was good as it meant not having to swerve around slower people, even on the narrow paths. Beautiful scenery and a fantastic goody bag. Maria C

Great event, the support and the atmosphere were fantastic, very well organised, finish line was great with a nice goodie bag. Medal and T-Shirt 5 Estrelas I will definitely be back. Jose P

Beautiful flat route so I smashed my Half Marathon PB. Very well organised, fantastic mashalls, well spaced water stations, loads of local support. And it was a beautiful sunny day to boot. Claire G

It was just plain simple fun on a fast, flat course! Caitlin B

Really flat course with lovely views across the river. Really well organised and had a great time. Sam J

The organisation of this event was fantastic and the being a local to the area, thoroughly enjoyed taking in the natural picturesque view running down the river. Grant B
