Hawkshead 10K

Kendal Amateur Athletic Club, based in the picturesque town of Kendal, the ‘Gateway to the Lakes’, hosts a series of four scenic 10K road races in and around the breathtaking Lake District during spring and early summer. All races start at thread through small villages and offer stunning views of the Lake District’s natural beauty. Hawkshead 10K - The start is at the north end of the village just before the junction with the road to Ambleside and the finish is on the B5285 from Far Sawrey as it nears Hawkshead. The undulating course follows an anticlockwise route around the beautiful Esthwaite Water, brushing past Near Sawrey and Hill Top, the home of Beatrix Potter. After the race, enjoy a delicious pie and peas meal with pickled red cabbage and beetroot (or a vegetarian option) in the charming Hawkshead Square, making it a fantastic social occasion. After the race, join us at the village hall for a social occasion, where coffee, tea, and cakes are offered to all athletes, making it a perfect way to unwind and celebrate your achievement.
