Lakeland Paws Dogs @ Dodd | 5K

Dodd Wood is on the opposite side of Bassenthwaite lake to Whinlatter but still very close to Keswick. It’s still very hilly, slightly less technical and we offer a shorter route of 5k or a longer option of 8k canicross route. Our route at Dodd Wood is also not flat! We run on a mix of single trails and forest roads, with simply stunning views across Derwentwater and Bassenthwaite Lake. At Dodd our 8K has 370m ascent and our 5k has approximately 210m of ascent. On the paths we use the terrain at Dodd is slightly easier than Whinlatter and anything more technical is a little wider so at Dodd we allow runners to run with two dogs if they wish. The 8k option is graded as RED (due to the amount of ascent). The 5k option is graded as Blue.
