  • Trees not tees

Sportiva Events is doing its best to minimise the environmental impact of this event. Here are a few of their initiatives:

Sustainability

  • Trees not tees

For all events which include a t-shirt, there is the option to plant a tree instead through a partnership with Treesnottees

  • Avoid single-use plastics

New paper cups have been sourced to be fully recycled back into high-grade paper.

  • Optional medals

Lots of competitors are not interested in finishers' medals so they are now optional. A £2 charity donation is made for every medal not selected.

  • Swim hats on request

Swim hats are provided for open water swimming events as they help the water safety teams keep track of swimmers. However for all pool events, swim hats are now on request to reduce wastage.

  • Reuseable zip ties and recycling

Reusable zip ties are used and all rubbish is sorted for recycling after the event.

  • Reducing car use

At the Burrator 10K running race those who commit to walking or cycling to the event get £5 discount.

What a great day. Thoroughly enjoyed that. Beautiful scenery and great weather, despite the forecast. That road from St Ives to St Just might just be the nicest road I've ever ridden. Gthyer

Well organised and signposted, great scenic ride, delicious food and hot drinks, friendly helpful people, bright sunshine all the way, couldn't have had a better day - thank you. Karen H

My second year taking part. The best Sportive I've ever done. Great route, timed with rankings, food stops, mechanics, pictures, free t-shirt. Who could ask for more? John R

Great day and good variety of terrain. Jonathan C

The whole event was fantastic from before the start to the finish. The number arrived with plenty of time. The gps file was accurate and available early. The route was mostly quiet roads and unusually smooth for the uk. The aid stations were really well stocked! Beer, medal and a t shirt at the finish. Every one I spoke to was friendly and helpful. Unsurprisingly nearly everyone I spoke to on the course had been multiple times. Roger B

Great day, thanks to all the Sportiva staff! Good food stops and clear way marking along the whole route. Really enjoyed my first ever sportive and will be back next year hopefully the sun turns up again too! Stephen J

The start/ finish was spectacular opposite St Michaels Mount and great to visit .The route was beautiful along the coast with views across the sea. Cycling gives you a really good sense of place of the area and is the best way to experience it. The feed stations were the best I have had with tea coffee and a range of savoury food and choice of homemade flapjacks better than many cafes. David W

I thoroughly enjoyed my day out. Weather was perfect. This is my favourite Sportive. Stuart G
