Event overview
'Piece of String' refers to the distance and route. You will not know until the event unfolds.
You will find out when there is 1km to go to the finish! All you need to do is turn up for a great pre-Christmas run out, on the region's most popular hill, and you can be sure of the following:
Highlights
- The route will be between 6 and 12 Kilometers in length
- It will be well-marked and marshalled
- There'll be some hills
- It starts and finishes at Bwlch Penbarras
- You will get a mince pie and a suitably festive medal at the finish to reward you for your efforts!
- There will be some racing going on, but the emphasis will be on a fun, friendly and inclusive event atmosphere - all abilities welcome!
There will be a kit requirement which will be communicated nearer the time based on the weather conditions.
Please note - as the name and location of the event suggests, this is a route which will involve hills and a wide variety of terrain, and participants should enter with this in mind.

Challenging the mindset. Love the format, did this 2 years ago and it was an out and back loop, expected the same but it wasn't, a tough technical circular with the slow realisation had to repeat, but not knowing how many times. Barry S
