Adaptive riding
Muck n’ Mac Fest is excited to announce that this year’s event will be open to adaptive cyclists.
Working in partnership with the Adaptive Riders Collective (ARC), the event is providing a 40km cycle route which is suitable for off-road adaptive cycles. The camping facilities and event village will be accessible with a path throughout the camping area and event village, and ARC will be on hand to support adaptive riders and campers throughout the weekend. ARC will be supporting the 40km ride on Saturday and will be offering two 20km led rides on the Sunday, which will be available to all cyclists.
This event is looking forward to being part of cycling in Scotland becoming more inclusive for all.

Muck n' Mac Fest takes in about 65% off-road trails and tracks and the other 35% on the road.
Ideally, a gravel bike is the ultimate beast for the job, but any bike from the off-road family will do the trick. A minimum of 40mm tyres to be safe - there are a few rocky stretches!
Despite the gravel bike being the all-round best fitter, there are a few technical sections throughout the route to keep you on your toes, which might favour the MTB at points.
Taking in some of the most excellent gravel, farm and fire track trails the Scottish Borders has to offer, this one truly is a beauty!
There are multiple timed Enduro-style stages throughout the route. However, in between, the sections are untimed - giving you a chance to kick back and enjoy the stunning scenes unfolding in front of you.
GPX upload of routes are available one week in advance.

Muck n' Mac Fest is staged in one of the most stunning locations the country has to offer. The trails are glorious, the roads are epic.
One of the driving forces is to operate an event format that is as environmentally friendly and sustainable as possible. When out on the trails and roads it is the policy to remember a few key points:
- Other users are in these areas
- Be cautious to the landowners and other users
- Respect the privacy, safety and general working livelihoods of such people living and working in these areas
- Leave the land as you see it
- Many of the trails pass through farmed land
- If you see a closed gate, you close it after yourself
- Remember that the outdoors can never be made risk-free
- Please act with care at all times for both your own safety and that of others
- Absolutely no littering, under any circumstances

Great event! This is my second time at Muck ‘n Mac and I’ll definitely be back in 2025. Something for everyone to do in terms of afternoon/ evening activities, as well as the actual routes themselves. It is an extremely well organised event and cannot wait for next year! Lexi Ligeti

Superb event, well organised, great route, friendly staff. Thank you. Al C
An excellent gravel weekend! Everything was well thought of. Event village had clean toilets and hot showers! . Great pizza, ice cream and coffee! Music at night was cracking. Very chilled vibe. Cycling was superb. Challenging but doable! Great for the pros and great for people like me who take twice as long to get value for money 😉 Scenery on the bike was superb. Great variety of terrain. We’ll definitely come back next year Thanks again. Mark
First time at Muck n'Mac and it won't be the last - I loved it!!! The whole weekend end was absolutely brilliant from the venue at Traquair House, to the ride courses, to the speakers, the food and the live bands. And all supplemented with such a wonderful chilled and friendly atmosphere. Lorna M
