Event overview

Take in the most spectacular views in Eryri's Ogwen Valley. With three distances available, covering some of the highest mountains in England and Wales as part of this imposing skyline, the Ogwen | Yr Helgi Du races include epic trails and technical terrain; they're truly mountain races.

What an incredible race! From start to finish, everything about the event was just spot-on. The course took us through some of the most breathtaking scenery I've ever seen during a race.

The Carneddau are the Front Range of the Eryri (Snowdonia) mountains, rising from the North Wales coast to form the second-highest mountains in the whole of England and Wales, with Carnedd Llywelyn being just 21m lower than its more famous cousin, Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon).

Highlights

  • Starts and finishes in the spectacular Ogwen Valley
  • Steep climbs onto the dramatic ridge of Y Braich
  • Traverse the rocky, iconic summit of Yr Helgi Du
  • Sweeping views across Llyn Ogwen and Tryfan
  • Challenging technical terrain testing stamina and strength
  • Fully marked route with expert safety support throughout

This race provides an accessible skyline race that will test the experienced but also provide enough support to those looking to take their mountain running to the next level!
