Event overview
Come and run 10K in the dark and receive the love, a medal and some goodies!

You need a head or chest torch to run in this event. No torch, no run. It may be that you start in the fading daylight but no-one will finish without needing a head torch.
Petzl will be there on the night so you can test out the best head torches on the night. If youβve got a cheap headtorch from Amazon, youβll be able to tell the difference immediately.
This event is part of Petzl Night Trails 10K | Salcey Forest.

Overview
Ground conditions will depend very much on the weather closer to the event. It is fundamentally on crushed stone however with tree detritus the ground can become a bit slippy and mucky. The route is fully marked and essentially a 2-lap course. Salcey Forest is fundamentally flat - but any sort of uphill on a 10K feels like a mountain!
Cut off
Effectively 2 hours.
This is how long the medics are booked for. The hope is that the cut-off shouldnβt exclude anyone from entering.

Friendly volunteers, a great course and cold but dry weather that made for perfect, almost magical running conditions. I’ve done this event many times and it always feels different. Highly recommended. Vicky J
No one does night events as well as Big Bear Events. Seamless organisation, a very well-marked course and a glow-in-the-dark medal. What’s not to love? Mitesh T
As ever, exceptional organisation and a very enjoyable event. It was great to see so many new people taking part. James G
A brilliant canicross event. Our dogs loved it, especially the dog water stations and the medal for them at the finish. Cirhan T
The course was perfectly marked and the entire event was flawlessly managed. Highly recommended. Craig W
A lovely, smooth race experience. It’s the first time I’ve felt safe and calm running largely solo at night, and it felt really special. Jacqueline L
A really well-organised and friendly run that I enjoyed. The only downside was small signage at some turns, which could be bigger to help visibility.Ian T
