Overview

Public footpaths, riverside trails and tarmac paths.

5km

The race starts at Piglove and follows the Trans Pennine Trail for 2.5km and turns around just before Thwaite Mills. This is a very fast and flat course with very good quality footpath conditions.

10km

This follows the same path as the 5km but continues past Thwaite Mills and then gets ever so slightly more rugged but is still very good fast running conditions. As it follows the river, it is incredibly flat, however, there is one small bridge with steps that must be crossed.

Both turnaround points will be clearly marked and marshalled.

Excellent event well organised, think the turning point for the 10k was too early so a lot of people tracked short but not the end of the world! Stuart W

Absolutely fantastic event with seamless organisation! Nick T

This was my first time running with Great Owl Running and I loved it! Relatively small, local event - very well organised, very friendly and amazing atmosphere! The venue was amazing and it was a very good course. Can't wait to run with you again soon! Tanya C

Fantastic event. Very well organised and will be back next time. Rob S

A great atmosphere and great beer at the end. The course is fast and mainly flat with a few bridges to cross. Marshalls were friendly and helpful and its a lovely area to run. Richard V

Great event and good race for a PB! Samuel O

Really friendly atmosphere, my first ever race and I really enjoyed it. Felt supported with all the friendly faces at the end of the race and during! Really nice bar/garden area to sit at afterwards. Rachel T

Loved every moment of this event! The atmosphere was great! Laura H

Great route along the canal, seemed well organised. Announcer at the start was a little difficult to hear but got the gist of what he was saying. Claire K
