This is your chance to be part of an amazing community, all walking for one reason. To show support and raise money for people affected by breast cancer.

Highlights

  • Enjoy tailor-made routes in a unique location
  • Take on a 10 or 20-mile challenge
  • Savour a hero's welcome, well-earned medal and meal at the finish
  • Add your pink ribbon message to the incredible display

People I met as strangers felt able to talk through their journeys, and I learnt so much in such a relatively short space of time. I got so much more out of the walk than I thought possible. 2025 Pink Ribbon Walk participant

Who can take part?

The Pink Ribbon Walks are open to anyone over the age of 13. People aged 13-17 need to have an adult register them on their behalf. Children can also come on the day to cheer on their family members along the route and/or support them on site.

Routes are designed to be challenging but achievable with a training programme suited to your ability.

Teams

Each team member will need to be registered to the event, so one person can register the entire group or everyone can register individually. You can then create a JustGiving page for your team to help with that all-important fundraising. Why not give your team a name so that everyone knows who you are.

Terrain

Routes are designed to be challenging but achievable with a training programme suited to your ability. Please be aware that all of our walks do contain some hills and there will be varied terrain.

Training

It doesn’t matter if you’re an experienced walker or have never done anything like this before as long as you put in the training. There is plenty of time to train and training tips are included in your digital event pack, which you will receive when you sign up. You’ll be supported every step of the way by the team at Breast Cancer Now.

Spectators

‘Cheer Points’ will be positioned at various points along the routes and will be accessible to friends and family who wish to offer support, so do invite them to come along.

Dogs

Dogs must be on a lead at all times.

Wheelchair users

The route may be accessible for wheelchair users but this can be weather dependent. Please get in touch for details.

Pushchairs

As there are some less accessible sections, pushchairs cannot be allowed on the route. Children under 13 are more than welcome to come and cheer you on at our cheer points and at the finish line.

So, make sure to remember to bring your own bottle to refill.

A celebratory meal will be provided for you when you cross the finish line. There will be vegetarian and gluten free options available to those who have requested them on their registration form.

I had an amazing day and thoroughly enjoyed myself. It was fantastic, emotional and rewarding. Great to walk with friends and raise funds for such a great cause.

Beautiful route with friendly volunteers at every point along the way. Fantastic snack stops and post walk meal. Loved the whole experience.

My Pink Ribbon Walk experience was amazing. The route was great, the staff and volunteers were fantastically supportive and inspirational, and the day is one that I will never forget - knowing that I was helping others, albeit in a small way, and having a wonderful day at the same time was incredible.

The route was a delight, it was so well organised and took us through the most beautiful countryside. There were places to rest along the way with refreshments, and I definitely benefited from the massage at the end. I have to mention the many volunteers, who looked after us with their smiles and words of encouragement!

Breast Cancer Now

Funding research and provide support to anyone affected by breast cancer.

Breast Cancer Now is the charity that’s steered by world-class research and powered by life-changing care. They're here for anyone affected by breast cancer, the whole way through, providing support for today and hope for the future. Their goal is that by 2050, everyone diagnosed with breast cancer will live – and be supported to live well. But we need to act now.

By signing up to the Pink Ribbon Walk you are helping to achieve this goal.

Fundraising goal

Each walker is encouraged to raise £150 sponsorship.

Breast Cancer Now asks for a minimum sponsorship of £150 from each participant because it reflects the scale and difficulty of the challenge and so that the charity can continue to fund life-changing research and support. While there is no penalty for not reaching the minimum fundraising target, walkers are encouraged to reach this target, and fundraising ideas and materials will be provided to help make this as easy as possible.

How to raise £150

There are a range of resources for your Pink Ribbon Walk. You can download games, posters and more to help you reach your fundraising goal!

Get everyone involved in a treasure hunt. Who can find all of the pink ribbons?

  • Telephone game

  • Pin the medal game
