GPX route
The route is displayed on the map above.
The sea swim, is exceptionally sheltered with land on both sides and feels more like a lake swim. The tough bike is on rolling roads but with some stunning sea views along the way. The final traffic-free runs, based on a 5K lap, are within the grounds of Mount Edgcumbe and include some great coast paths.

It was a fantastic event. The sea swim was really enjoyable and the water was calm. The bike ride was hilly and really hard work, but rewarding with beautiful sea views. The run was also very hilly, but very rewarding. The scenery was lovely. The last 2km of the run was downhill all the way to the finish line, so you could really pick up some speed to impress your friends and family! Matt E
Thank you so much for a fantastic event. It was so well organised and so friendly. Really enjoyed the day. Thank you. Natalie Preston on Facebook

Once again a cracking event run by Sportiva events and Plymouth Triathlon Club. Anthony E
Great event with a well-marshalled course. A very hilly course but also one with really good views for a triathlon. Good weather made for a very enjoyable event. Joseph D

- Sustainability policy
- Trees not tees
This event is doing its best to minimise its environmental impact. Here are a few of its initiatives:
Sustainability
Trees not tees
For all events which include a t-shirt, there is the option to plant a tree instead through a partnership with Treesnottees
Avoid single-use plastics
New paper cups have been sourced to be fully recycled back into high-grade paper.
Optional medals
Lots of competitors are not interested in finishers' medals so they are now optional. A Β£2 charity donation is made for every medal not selected.
Swim hats on request
Swim hats are provided for open water swimming events as they help the water safety teams keep track of swimmers. However for all pool events, swim hats are now on request to reduce wastage.
Reuseable zip ties and recycling
Reusable zip ties are used and all rubbish is sorted for recycling after the event.
Reducing car use
At the Burrator 10K running race those who commit to walking or cycling to the event get Β£5 discount.
