Event overview

With only two places remaining, this is your chance to be part of something truly extraordinary!

Ride for Precious Lives is CHSW's flagship cycling challenge. It's 200+ miles across three days, three counties and three children's hospices, raising vital funds for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions.

It's the best weekend of the year for me.

Designed for committed cyclists ready to take on 70–80 miles a day through some of the South West's most spectacular landscapes, this isn't just a ride, it's an experience that connects you to the families and communities your fundraising directly supports. Each £1,250 raised funds around 60 hours of hospice care.

Descend Cheddar Gorge on Day 1, cross Exmoor on Day 2, and tackle Bodmin Moor on Day 3.

When this weekend comes around, it's the best weekend of the year for me... I can't give back enough. Anyone that does it the first year, they'll sign on and do it year after next.

We are so proud and priveleged and honoured to be able to financially support the ride, to allow this to happen, so that all the money goes to where it's needed most at the children's hospice.

We've done this since 2017 - a friend of mine got me involved - and from that point on I said as long as I've got air in my lungs and my legs keep moving, I will raise funds for this amazing charity.

I never ever thought I would get myself back on a bike at my age, but last year... I decided to get on a bike and I have to say it has been incredible.

It has been an absolutely incredible weekend... It has been all about looking after each other.

What a ride this is. This ride means so much and the charity means so much.

Children's Hospice South West

Together, Team Ride will raise awareness and vital funds for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions and their families across the South West.

Each rider commits to raising £1,250 which could fund 60 hours of care at one of the hospices. How many hours of care could you provide?

When you sign up, you’ll receive a welcome pack that has everything you need to know about fundraising, including a month-by-month guide to splitting your fundraising down into achievable amounts.

The Fundraising Team will also give you a call to help with ideas to boost your fundraising and a bi-monthly Zoom meetings to get to know the rest of your team riders will be offered along with monthly emails!

4 steps to wellbeing
Sleep well

A good night's sleep is an essential foundation for a healthy lifestyle, effective training and weight control.

Train slow

Low-intensity training is easier for you, reduces the risk of injury and helps builds an efficient aerobic system.

Eat natural

Cut out sugar & junk food, reduce carbs, eat natural foods and train your body to burn fat for fuel.

Get outdoors

Fresh air, natural light and reconnecting with nature all help to improve mental and physical wellbeing.
