I live in Crystal Palace, South London. It is the 2nd highest point in London so I have a nice hill to climb at the end of any ride. I have owned a bike since I was four, so that's over 60 years.

Framlingham College

Framlingham Castle provides an impressive backdrop to the RIDE Suffolk Sunrise sportive.

Setting off from the grounds of historic Framlingham College, founded in 1864 in memory of Queen Victoria’s husband, Albert, Prince Consort, whose statue takes pride of place at the front of the College. The sprawling 85-acre site offers ample free parking and plenty of space for families and bikes.

  • Plastic bottle free
  • Public transport links

The event encourages sustainability by using wooden medals to celebrate your achievement. It also operates no-plastic-bottle feed stations, offering water refills from water bowzers instead. Participants are encouraged to take public transport or car-share to reach the event.

Great event with very friendly volunteers and aid stations. Will definitely do another one next year!

I was so impressed with this event, the weather played its part and the organisation of the event from sign up all the way to completion was excellent.

One of the best organised cycling-specific events I've taken part in over 40 years of cycling. No need to carry any extra food as lots of goodies and hot tea available at all stops - the cheese and pickle rolls at 2nd feed station were inspirational. Everyone was very friendly even having to stand around all day. Great to have burger van and ice-cream at the end! Very good signage along the route

This was my first sportive. I thoroughly enjoyed every mile. It was very well organised and the support I received on route, at the refreshment stops and at the finish was fantastic. I will be entering next years event without doubt. A huge thank you to everyone who supported the event.

Probably the prettiest sportive route I have ever done, and the roads were very quiet too! Feed stations were well stocked and it was nice to see savoury options making a very pleasant change from the usual sweet stuff. Volunteers were very friendly especially at the Fressingfield stop. Will certainly have this ride on my list for next year!

Very well organised sportive ... awesome marshalls on the day and everyone just made the day so enjoyable. Best sportive I've ridden will definitely do it again next year!

Thanks for a great event. Very well organised, friendly marshals, good route and perfect weather.

What an excellent event. The route was clearly signed so easy to follow. The aid stops were very well stocked and the staff were friendly and supportive. At the finish I was greeted by smiles and applause. A very well put together event. Well done.

This is one of my favourite rides, to which I keep returning due to it's excellent catering and organisation, pleasant location and route , and all round friendliness. Paul B

Amazing course and support, everything was top-notch. Can’t wait to race again next year! Nigel C
