Event overview

Welcome to the Ronde Van Calderdale, also know as The RVC. The RVC is a ride designed to mimic the cobbled challenge of Flanders. This event quickly became iconic following publicity from British Cycling back in 2012 for its 14 cobbled climbs, the warm welcome and hospitality from our volunteers and the incredible scenery in the Kirklees and Calderdale districts of Yorkshire. It is run by a team of volunteers at Kirklees Cycling Academy, a club that was founded in 2010 with the objective of supporting the development of competitive cyclists aged 6 upwards through to the BC Olympic Programme and into professional sport. All proceeds from the RVC are used to further access to quality coaching, rollers, subsidised race clothing and high quality race bikes (road / track and cyclo-cross). The event has only a medium distance of circa 58 miles and 13 cobbled climbs, and a long distance of 74 miles and 14 cobbled climbs. Both represent a real challenge.
