Event overview

With 38km of mountain terrain and 2800m of ascent, all on technical, single-track trails from start to finish, this makes this a classic skyrunning route to be reckoned with! Starting at the centre of the Great Langdale Valley from Lanty Slees Stickle Barn, you will run over the Lakeland Fells, through Lakeland Valleys traversing over some of the most challenging trails in the central Lake District, including to the summit of England’s highest mountain, Scafell Pike. THERE IS NO VETTING IS REQUIRED ON SCAFELL SKY RACE. The fastest runners are expected to cross the finish line in just under four hours. However our generous cut-off times mean that our final finishers have up to twelve hours to make it back to race base, where you’ll be welcomed with a finisher’s meal and drink!
