Event overview

The Scafell Sky Ultra is what you have been waiting for Lake District Sky Trails. This mountain sky ultra will make your mind, body and soul will for it to continue and stop at the same time. Building on the Scafell Sky Race and the Helvellyn Sky Ultra, the team at LDST have come up with a corker of a route. In usual style think; A roller coaster of a route, uber technical trails to 'live for', ridge-lines to excite the most excitable of skyrunners, the highest summit in England and to top it all off, a whopping 4400m route profile in just 60km. Starting at the Lanty Slees Stickle Barn events centre, you will travel over sections of the infamous Scafell Sky Race before branching off after the 1st feed station to take a roller coaster of a route over Kirk Fell, through Wasdale, up and over Scafell Pike taking a different line into Great Langdale before rudely heading back out and over to the Coniston Fells for the awesome Prison Band between Swirl How and Wetherlam before heading back to the events centre and all the glory you deserve for completing this 'Tour de Force' of the Central and Southern Lakes. The fastest runners will be expected to cross the finish line between 6 & 7 hours, but fear not, the race will be open for 15 hours, allowing time for mortal skyrunners to enjoy the route in all its glory. THERE IS NO VETTING ON THE SCAFELL SKY ULTRA
