Event overview

You will welcome the Wolf Moon by running out and back on this challenging but scenic route. Starting from Race HQ at Rock Lane in Sutton Scarsdale, you run through Sutton Spring Wood and then climb to the Five Pits Trail, making sure to soak up the views as you go. The route will then undulate before reaching the turning loop where there will be an aid station catering for your needs. Running back the way you came on the ever darkening trail, you will receive a warm welcome at the finish where you can relax and reflect on your achievement with cake and hot drinks by the campfire whilst hopefully being bathed in the light of the full moon. Finishers are rewarded with a Wolf Moon medal. Free car parking is available at Race HQ, Sutton Scarsdale Hall and Rock Lane. The race has a 3hr time limit so that everyone is back by 5.30pm. (There is an optional 30 minute earlier start for slower athletes who don't feel as confident being out in the dark - note, this is not a competitive wave start, it's not for people who expect to finish inside 2h30m).
