Event overview

We showcase the best of our beautiful English Countryside, with a stunning point to point route, traversing the South Downs Way and finishing in the fabulous town of Arundel. Coaches transport runners from Arundel to the start and can be added to your event entry at check-out! The SDW and Arundel Winter Trails Event has been designed by trail runners for trail runners! And if you are not quite up to marathon distance after the Christmas break, we have included a 15 Mile option to ease you into the New Year. Both distances are challenging but gorgeous, fully marked point to point off road courses, that start in the quiet village of Heyshott and then follow the South Downs Way to the historic town of Arundel and its spectacular castle. 15 mile runners will drop down off the SDW and run along the River Arun before hitting the finish line, in the shadow of the castle. Marathon runners continue on the SDW and are treated to river runs, rolling fields and hills, there is even a hidden Gurkha Suspension bridge to navigate before you join the River Arun and head back towards the Castle and the finish.

This event is part of South Downs & Arundel Marathon & 15 Mile Winter Trails.
