Overview

The route is mostly grassy trail or graded footpath, with only the first half a mile on footpaths/tarmac and the last half mile on the way back.

The route is flat and mostly good underfoot with a mixture of graded gravel paths and riverside trail. If it's wet, about 12 miles in total can be muddy/wet riverside trail that can be slippery.

You will run out for 15 miles and turn around and come back along the same scenic route.

All runners can download a written route description below as a backup, but the route is very easy to follow along the River Stort. There will be signage before and after every turn to ensure the route is as clear as possible, but please use the route description or GPX file in case signs are moved or vandalised.

Please note the diversion at Fieldes Weir; it has been updated on the route description and the GPX file.

It was my first ultra. Very suitable for a first timer. Very well-stocked fuelling stations with very friendly marshals. Anon

Have run this event a few times now and I still love it despite the mud! A nice and flat ultra marathon which, although flat, offers a variety of terrains along the way to keep it challenging. Very well organised but a nice, friendly team. The feed stations are well-positioned and manned by lovely marshalls. Kerry Mavris

The marshals were incredible, and a wonderful entry-level Ultra. Definitely got me itching for more and I'd recommend this race to everyone. Little bit of sunshine next time, though, hey? Anon

A nice, flat scenic course for a first ultra. Great food stations, lots of food and drink to choose fro,m even for the slower runners. Friendly encouraging marshalls too. Anon

Better than Tough Mudder. Great route, organisation and volunteers. Very muddy on the day, so come prepared! Anon

Entry-level ultra that will have you coming back for more! I have run this even 5 times, and have loved each one. No navigation required, perfectly spaced aid stations, 99% flat (until the last mile!), a good mix of trails (everything from hard-packed paths to sloppy mud (depending on weather!) and a lovely mix of runners. Anon

Great first ultra. Ran this yesterday as my first ultra, was well signposted, regular aid stations with very cheery and enthusiastic volunteers and a range of food and drinks which I liked a lot. Very glad I did it. The route was almost entirely off road, occasionally muddy. Have already recommended to my friends who are considering it.

A well-organised event with good checkpoints. Julia B
