Friendly, inclusive, well-organised fun with great food. It’s always a pleasure to run with It’s Grim Up North — a low-key, friendly, helpful bunch who really look after their runners. Hot food, cider, cake and sweets all available at the finish line in abundance, plus friendly marshals and an inclusive atmosphere. Stephanie Innes-Smith

Always great events. Really good selection of food, snacks and drinks. Very friendly and well organised runs. Angela Howarth
Awesome event. Well organised, fab marshals and great communication. Great event for anyone wanting to try a different distance. David Robertshaw
Absolutely fantastic — you will never find any better races than Grim ones. Thought the move of the registration place was better, though a portaloo at the start/finish would help for longer distances. The feed station was fab, as was the finish one. Louise Taylor
Fantastic, well organised eve. Kelly Baker
Lovely day out. Lyn Todd
Felt like you were with friends. Lovely event, well organised, friendly volunteers, a lovely run and a sausage sandwich — what else do you want. Andrew Davey
First 5k event with Grim Up North, very welcoming and very well organised. Will be returning for many more. Kristian Coates
Always a great experience running with Grim. Thanks to the whole team — everyone is so kind, positive and friendly. Really liked the registration over the road, great loos. There aren’t many marathons where you can finish, be given a bacon sandwich and wander back to your car with a medal and a warm fuzzy feeling. No stress, no hassle, just good running. So glad I chose this race for my first marathon — a flat course, spot-on running weather and an amazing atmosphere. Sarah Woffinden
