Swim The Channel Up North Challenge

For the last nine years this muscular little endurance swim has attracted swimmers from around the UK to swim continuously until they complete 36km or for one mile every hour for 12 hours. Intrepid soloists and relay teams of between 2-6 swimmers join up for the challenge of swimming the 36km English Channel distance (21 miles) in a beautiful, safe English lake. For potential English Channel swimmers its an event that provides a clear idea on the time it will take to swim the English Channel proper. Relay swimmers are required to complete equal distances and swim in a designated team order and soloists just plough on around the course fed and nourished by their dedicated land support.
