Overview

Back for its successful fifth year, this renowned endurance challenge will see soloists, pairs and teams of four tackle Table Mountain in a series of loops.

Last year there were some truly remarkable performances with a record of nine loops!

Starting at the base of the Mountain you'll face harsh and brutal climbs to collect your first wristband. Traversing some technical paths, you'll summit Pen Cerrig-calch at a height of 701m before claiming victory and collecting your second wristband.

You'll then pick up some speed and marvel at the very fast but tricky descent back past Table Mountain and back to base where you will hand in your bands and then decide whether to head straight back out or to rest and enjoy some light relief, refreshments and a massage.

It's time for the next challenging and testing loop.

Route overview

  • Starting at the base of the Mountain, you'll face a harsh and brutal climb up to the first leg of the Table. Skirting the perimeter, you will collect a wristband before facing the steep south face who will be smiling down at you. The outstanding views stretching as far as Pen Y Fan will make the climb worthwhile.
  • Continuing your fight traversing some technical paths, your aim is the summit of Pen Cerrig-calch at a height of 701m before claiming victory and collecting your second wristband.
  • Full of light relief you will then have the chance to pick up some speed and marvel at the very fast but tricky descent back past Table Mountain and back to base where you will hand in your bands and then decide whether to head straight back out or to rest and enjoy some light relief and refreshments.
  • A team of physios will be on hand for any aching muscles that may need some attention before taking on the next challenging and testing loop.

Cut off time

A strict 10 hour cut off will be in place. Any participant that does not reach base before the final horn will not have that loop recorded, this only adds to the challenge to ensure you are fast enough to beat that horn!

What stood out most was that it was a friendly, well organised, low key event with a great atmosphere. This event puts environmental concerns and enjoyment of the event above profits or profile. Nick B

Fantastic event which exceeded my expectations. Thought doing loops of a course might get tedious or be too tough to do but the scenery was stunning and the route chosen was gorgeous. Really great underfoot and just the right level of challenge to make it interesting but possible. The support from the team and Marshall’s was so good and the selection of food and drink at the check point was amazing. Felt very well looked after which was important as I’d gone on my own and didn’t know the area. Louise W

Fantastic event run by great people. Loved it and I shall return. Lee J

A very unique event - if you like a challenge then it definitely needs to go on your bucket list. A smashing atmosphere.. Race Director was extremely friendly and chatty as were the volunteers.. A wonderfully stocked main checkpoint. An amazing event and beautiful but tough! Jody M

Fantastic event, really fun, super friendly and encouraging. Philippa C

Everything was superbly organised and on point from start to finish, all fully Covid-19 compliant, I've never seen such clean/well-stocked portaloos before. The course was demanding, as I'd hoped, all the staff, both at race HQ and out on course, were friendly and supportive all day. The food was plentiful and the complimentary LT beanie to accompany the medal after the event was the cherry on top. I look forward to doing many more events with this great team in the future.
