The 40th Great Cumbrian Run

The event is managed by Better and Sport in Action, the largest charitable social enterprise delivering leisure, health and community services across the UK. Better operates in over 250 leisure centres across the UK and Ireland. It is a Social Enterprise and a not-for-profit charitable trust which simply means that profits are put back into the facilities run and the local community. Because you run, local children can enjoy school holiday activities. Because you run, more people can learn to swim.

Sport in Action is a well-established events company that run events in and around Carlisle. Founded in 2012 their mission is to provide high quality events with athletes at the heart of their work, ensuring safety, integrity and respect for all at every event. Solway Coast Marathon, Carlisle Resolution Run, Castle 5K Series and The Carlisle Santa Dash for Jigsaw children's hospital are just some of Sport in Actions annual races ran in and around Carlisle.
