There is something about being together with all those former patients and current patients and their families in a way to say thank you to the hospital. There are also people walking in memory of friends and family. You walk along with people and see the signs pinned to the back of people’s tβshirts; it is a really moving event. Laura
I did the 15 mile route of The Banham Marsden March and it was absolutely brilliant. The atmosphere was great, not just with people taking part in the event – people along the way were cheering for us. Liz
I think the March is a way we can all give back to The Royal Marsden, not just for the work they do every day, but also to help fund research and new treatments. I want to make sure other patients can benefit from The Marsden the way I have. Christine
The first year we took part we were absolutely blown away by the big party that happens at the finish line! It was such an amazing atmosphere. The big stage with music and dancers, it’s worth doing the event again just to experience this! Jane
We took part from our new home in Northern Italy. It was great to be able to do the walk – despite the added hills – and know that others were doing it back home. Laura
When I crossed the finish line the feeling of elation was massive, and the crowd and staff from The Royal Marsden were cheering us on. The fact that many friends and colleagues had sponsored me and this went to the charity to help people like me and future patients made it all worthwhile. Malcolm
