Event overview

The High Easter 10K offers a cash prize if you beat the course record!

This currently sits at £100 for the female course record and £200 for the male course record (important: this is because the male course record was not broken last year and therefore £100 has been carried over).

The previous records are 33:32 for the men, and 36:31 for the ladies.

This event is well known for attracting some wonderful community vibes and super support for those who take to the tarmac! The race is run on tarmac, fast and flat country roads with a road closure at the start.

All finishers receive a technical race t-shirt as a finishers memento.

Start

The start of the race is on The Street and the finish is on the playing field behind the village hall.

About the course

This is a relatively flat, single lap course which takes runners along the rural country lanes around High Easter. The route will be entirely on tarmac with the exception of the finish, which is positioned on the playing field at the High Easter Village Hall.

Whilst there will be a road closure at the start of the race, most of the race is on roads open to traffic. Please race with care and remain of your surroundings and follow the marshals instructions at all times.

Navigation

Your course will be clearly marked using large route arrows and directional cones, as well as being marshalled throughout. Please listen and obey all marshal instructions given. There will be a sweep marshal which will follow the last runner to make sure that no one is left on the route. All marshals will remain in place until stood down by the sweep marshal.

Other route users

Please be aware that you are sharing the roads with other runners and cyclists, many of whom live locally. We ask that you race with care and remain courteous at all times.

Buggies

Not every race is suitable to run with a buggy. Please get in touch to check the course suitability and to advise if you will be running with a buggy. Due to England Athletic rules, if you have checked course suitability and decide to run with a buggy, you will need to start from the back of the funnel and run non-competitively. You will still need to wear an official race bib.

A very enjoyable race! Ian Mackie

A lovely course and excellent facilities. Michael Todd

Superb race! Very friendly and efficiently organised by Grange Farm and Dunmow Runners and hard to fault. A warning about the nature of the hill at 8.5km would have helped! :-) Great marshalling around the course, very good and accurate signage, and appreciated the water station too. Finish was excellent but would have liked a 400m and 200m “to go” signs as finish is hidden. Thank you for a fabulous event. We will definitely return! Gary Donoghue

Superb. Pasquale Pellecchia

Well organised event and a great course. John Tennant

Great, friendly, well organised race. Sarah Williams

Great 10k route, well marshalled. Jacquie King

Fab event. Great route. Friendly marshals. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Angela Dellar

Great race. Good fast race course around country lanes, almost traffic feel roads. Richard Bonham

Great course lovely to be running in quiet lanes and no traffic to worry about. Alastair Kendrick
