Event overview
You will find yourself winding through ancient woodland, steeped in history with incredible views over the surrounding Chiltern Hills AONB. Whilst running you will be greeted with the sound of Red Kites soaring high above. You will find yourselves running on various famous routes such as the Icknield Way, which is one of the oldest roads in Britain, it consists of Prehistoric pathways, already old when the Romans set foot upon it. It survives now as splendid green lanes. The route starts off by climbing up to Whiteleaf Hill, where you will see the famous white leaf chalk cross, and again stunning views of the surrounding area. A section of the long route takes you to a viewpoint where you can see the famous 16th-century country home of the prime minister “Chequers". Please note, there is no outpost on the Short route. With trains frequently leaving London and arriving into Princes Risborough in less than an hour the Maverick Buckinghamshire event is certainly worthy of a Saturday morning adventure. Unfortunately the venue are not allowing dogs at this event, so we will not be able to have dogs at the venue or running in this event.
This event is part of The Maverick Original Buckinghamshire.
