Overview
A scenic and undulating multi-terrain route along cliff-top paths by the coast.
The run is through fields, woodland, and trail, the route is undulating, including quite a few steps and a couple of stiles. If you choose to do the 5k or 10k, the route is less challenging. The half marathon and marathon are a tad more challenging. With a generous 6.5-hour cut-off for all the distances, take your time or take up the challenge. This one is not one to be missed. A lovely day out.

Water/feed stations
There are feed/drink stations approximately every 3 miles, helping to keep you hydrated and sugar levels up. The route is signposted, and of course there are some of the lovely Grim marshals along the course. At the end, collect your butty from the Blue Savannah van in front of the pub or once the pub opens, collect your meal from the Ship Inn (veggie and GF options are available). Either way, it's a chance to sit down and talk to other runners.

Brutal, but good. I did the Half Marathon. It could have done with a few more way signs. I had to ask members of the public which way the runners went. All in all, I really enjoyed it. Darren H
Superb scenery made it a really enjoyable run. Michael W
Hot and challenging race. My first event and was not intimidating, very friendly with no egos like other races. Route was good, steps a killer but even with the heat the majority was shaded in the woods. Slightly better placement of some markers at junctions other than that great event. A welcome ice pop at the end! Roy G
Excellent way to spend a hot summer Sunday morning! Andrew B
Challenging but fun route with amazing scenery. Amanda B
Very well organised and volunteers are friendly, ready to offer assistance. David R
Good experience. Needed more signs only downside apart from that fantastic. Kamran A

Incredible scenery! My first ever run and absolutely loved it! Will definitely be back for 2026! Laura C
Amazing views! You know what youβre going to get with Grim and this run didnβt disappoint- friendly and supportive marshals and staff at the start and out on the course and INCREDIBLE views! Great snacks at the finish as ever. Thanks to everyone involved! Lauren B
