Event overview

An event for road runners over 3 miles (well, actually 2.85 miles or 4.6 km), but with a couple of differences from most runs: It’s a handicap event - the slowest runners start first. The first time you enter you will be consulted about your expected time for 3 miles/5 kilometres. When we get it right - more often than not - you all come over the finishing line in close order. It’s held every month - since June 1988 - with no plans to stop.1065 different entrants to date. It’s absolutely prizeless ! You get no medals, no goody bags - just glory (and sweat) - except for a "Frequent Flyer" medal to every runner (23 so far) who finishes more than 100 runs - including 4 who have completed more than 200 runs and Alan Davidson who has completed more than 300 runs. Please note: the use of headphones in this race is not recommended.

Sleep well

A good night's sleep is an essential foundation for a healthy lifestyle, effective training and weight control.

Train slow

Low-intensity training is easier for you, reduces the risk of injury and helps builds an efficient aerobic system.

Eat natural

Cut out sugar & junk food, reduce carbs, eat natural foods and train your body to burn fat for fuel.

Get outdoors

Fresh air, natural light and reconnecting with nature all help to improve mental and physical wellbeing.
