Event overview

It’s a handicap event - the slowest runners start first. The first time you enter you will be consulted about your expected time for 3 miles/5 kilometres. When we get it right - more often than not - you all come over the finishing line in close order. It’s held every month - since June 1988 - with no plans to stop. 1057 different entrants to date. It’s absolutely prizeless ! You get no medals, no goody bags - just glory (and sweat) - except for a "Frequent Flyer" medal to every runner (21 so far) who finishes more than 100 runs - including 4 who have completed more than 200 runs and Alan Davidson who has completed more than 300 runs. Please note: the use of headphones in this race is not recommended. There is no entry fee - and no entry form - just turn up and run. No age limit but minors must run accompanied by an adult Our oldest entrant was 90 and our youngest was just 7. On the first Wednesday of every month, except when that is 1st January. Allow, say, 15 minutes to sign in, receive a start time and study the map of the course, which is a flat, clockwise circuit.
