The Tibberton Trot debuted in 2019 with a race that partners Newport & District Running Club with the local community in Tibberton.
After a Covid-induced pause in 2020 and 2021, the race returned with a flourish in 2022, with runners enjoying the anti-clockwise, mixed-terrain course, which features around 50m of elevation changes. This race generally takes place in September every year, and features a start and finish on the playing fields by Tibberton School, which gives the race a “village fête” feel. The local community shop and village hall also offer cooked food such as bacon baps for purchase on the day, with funds raised from the race going back into causes that benefit the community. Special prizes exist for the fastest Tibberton-resident runners (both male and female) who complete the race.
