Overview

The Tissington Trail, the site of a former railway line from Ashbourne to Buxton is the perfect trail route. The route gently climbs through the glorious Peak District before turning around for a downhill finish - so fast times are likely!

You can expect uneven, stony ground and you are advised to look out for potholes, protruding tree roots and slippery surfaces. Please be aware that there are some two-way sections on the route where you will pass other runners. Please keep to the left.

Another fantastic race this year. Organisation spot on and runner friendly. Scenery wonderful. Challenging and worth the effort. Not for PB attempts. Peter D

Just a perfect non-fussy event. Number posted out before, lots of loos etc. Out and back course with encouraging marshals. Results up within a couple of hours. Can't fault it. Well, maybe it could be a bit flatter and the weather wasn't the best. But I do love a trail run. Oh, and the medal is epic. Well done. Dave E

A great race on a beautiful course . Few bottlenecks at the gates near the start on the trail but not the end of the world . Really enjoyed it . Well organised with a great medal too . Well done and thanks to Nice work and all the Marshall’s. Keith A

Well organised, route very clear. Snacks at the end were great. Little bit congested at the start but no more than any other normal race. Would definitely run again. Also very close to Ashbourne town centre for brekkie afterwards! Patrick B

Very well organised. Nice to have real toilets to go to and nice to be able to get a coffee after. These things matter. And a fab medal. Michelle C

But of congestion around the gates near the start, but after that really nice route through a beautiful landscape. Sharon M

Great event. Definitely recommend ! Jenny R

First time doing the ‘out and back’ route opposed to the autumn ‘point to point’ and just as enjoyable. I also didn’t really notice that we were running up hill the first part. It always has a nice atmosphere with a smaller field and well organised. Tissington trail is a lovely place to pass a couple of hours. Stuart R

Enjoyable event. Post race food / snacks good. Water stations good. I think Marshalls definitely needed at bottle neck gates at start: we were warned but they appear quite quickly and not obvious. . A sign for registration outside leisure centre also would be helpful for those unfamiliar with set up. Thanks to all concerned. Paul J

Everything about this event was great, from the organisation to the fantastic scenery and a course that allowed for a fast finish. I thoroughly enjoyed taking part. The medal and t shirt design was very good too. I wouldn’t hesitate to take part again and recommend to others. John P
