Overview

The Tissington Trail, the site of a former railway line from Ashbourne to Buxton is the perfect trail route. The route gently climbs through the glorious Peak District before turning around for a downhill finish - so fast times are likely!

You can expect uneven, stony ground and you're advised to look out for potholes, protruding tree roots and slippery surfaces. Please be aware that there are some two-way sections on the route where you will pass other runners.

First time at the event and very impressed. Only slight negative was that it was difficult to hear the pre race briefing. Mark S

Another fantastic race this year. Organisation spot on and runner friendly. Scenery wonderful. Challenging and worth the effort. Not for PB attempts. Peter D

Just a perfect non-fussy event. Number posted out before, lots of loos etc. Out and back course with encouraging marshals. Results up within a couple of hours. Can't fault it. Well, maybe it could be a bit flatter and the weather wasn't the best. But I do love a trail run. Oh, and the medal is epic. Well done. Dave E

A great race on a beautiful course. Few bottlenecks at the gates near the start on the trail but not the end of the world. Really enjoyed it. Well organised with a great medal too. Keith A

Well organised, route very clear. Snacks at the end were great. Little bit congested at the start but no more than any other normal race. Would definitely run again. Also very close to Ashbourne town centre for brekkie afterwards! Patrick B

Very well organized. Nice to have real toilets to go to and nice to be able to get a coffee after. These things matter. And a fab medal. Michelle C

Great event. Definitely recommend! Jenny R
