Overview

The race starts at Parsley Hay and finishes at the Ashbourne end of the Tissington Trail by Ashbourne Bike Hire.

The course follows a former railway line from Ashbourne to Buxton. This point to point route from Parsley Hay to Ashbourne is surrounded by beautiful countryside, the trail is ideal for a cracking half marathon and, because the route is slightly downhill all the way, you've got gravity on your side!

It is a multi-terrain course and all off-road so it cannot be accurately measured, although it is as close to 13.1 miles as we can get it using GPS technology.

Great course and perfect weather today. The route is stunning. Shame that spectators are few and far between. Most cyclists on the trail were respectful of the runners. Pat R

This was a well organised event. The communication was great prior to the event and all went smoothly. All the marshals were very encouraging and the finishers medal is good quality and well designed. Will be back next year. Susannah G

The organisation of this event was great. I got on a bus within a couple of minutes arriving at the leisure centre just before 9. There was time at the start for a nervous wee (plenty of loos) and a warm up before the start. There were three drink stops with fizzy and Jaffa cakes on the 2nd and 3rd stops as well as water. The mile signs were slightly out according to my Garmin so I was worried that it wasn’t going to be the full half so was well pleased to find that it was slightly over. A well organised event. Recommended. Helen A

Absolutely loved this event! The scenes were epic, as much as it's downhill, you still had to work. Think this might be one of my fave half marathons & will be back next year! Jess B

The event was great, perfect conditions. I would probably notify competitors that it would be possible to wear old clothing to discard at the start area in the pre race instructions. Might reduce the plastic bags. Steve C

Fantastic race! Very well organised, event organisers were great & very happy! Course was stunning! My favourite race this year :) Rachael J

Great event, great course, great organisation. Angela G

Lovely local race across beautiful countryside, an even trail that gives everyone enough space. Aid stations perfectly positioned and a good level of support even tho the weather was changeable. Buses to start point very straightforward and ran net downhill back to my car. Very enjoyable way to start the weekend and a PB! Recommend arrive early if you want to park at the leisure centre that seemed to fill up by 8:15, plenty of toilets and lovely volunteers. Thank you :-) Steph B

Second year running and was aswell organised as the rest and never disappoint with the high quality medals. Thanks all, great job πŸ‘πŸ» Laura P
