Trail shoes

For your safety and to handle the technical and rocky north coast trails, especially if it rains, you will need trail shoes. Please get a pair in good time for the race and break them in.

Fitness level

If you have a positive attitude, a pair of trail shoes, and a sense of adventure - you're in. There's a distance at this event for every ability. All runners are welcome, there will be all ages and abilities there on the day.

Trail running

Trail running is a little different to road running. Be prepared to do a little more work mentally to find your way as not all twists and turns in a trail race are explicitly marked. Treat it as an adventure!

Health benefits

There are many health benefits to trail running: Building strength, speed, and having less impact on joints than running on concrete. It’s also a very easy way of burning calories whilst having fun! The mental health benefits of being out in nature cannot be overstated enough also, particularly here in Jersey with the plethora of beautiful trails.

Trail running can also be a stimulating, 3-dimensional experience. Watching out for the different surfaces, steep ups and downs, the scenery, the peace and quiet, all add to an experience that is both mentally and physically challenging.

Your own crew

Runners are not allowed their own crew or outside help at any point along the course, or to store supplies along the trail.

This is particularly recommended if you are unfamiliar with the course or not from Jersey.

It’s probably my favorite race of all time. Harry M

An absolutely incredible course which is both enjoyable and challenging. The event takes you on an amazing tour of Jersey’s beautiful coast line. This event is extremely well organised and I felt at ease taking on the challenge. I would highly recommend if you want to push yourself to your limits and show what you are made of! Fran M

The views and changing scenery more than makes up for the challenging ascents and the atmosphere generated by the organising team, the marshals and the participants all make this an outstanding event. I’d highly recommend this to any ultra runner.. Ronald I

A stunning coastline you will never forget. The Double Top is both a challenge and a pleasure to run! 2nd time completing the relay, having started on either side now. Well organised with plenty of motivation from all runners, marshalls and even the view will get you going. Tough course, but you will have fun all the way. Thomas H

First time doing this race and was amazed! Course is very challenging with ups and downs, and the views were stunning. Definitely will do again. Thanks Paul and team! Jules I

This is the 3rd time I’ve done this race and it never ceases to inspire me. The hills are short but relentless and the views are spectacular. Tim M

Great day out on Jersey’s north coast. Whether you choose single or double top, it’s a tough run that requires decent preparation but the views and camaraderie are second to none. A great and unique event. Helen C

A really well run event that takes in Jerseys North Coast (TWICE!). The course itself is beautifully brutal with lots of ups and downs along the way. The course markings are spot on and the aid stations are well stocked and run by amazing volunteers. If you want to challenge yourself and really want to earn your medal then this race is up your street! James M

Very well organized event. Course perfectly marked. Aid stations very well stocked, marshals very supportive and encouraging. Thanks to organizers. Will comeback next year. Norbert S
