Event overview
Trail runners are in for a wild or mild winter treat!
The first three miles is mainly uphill following the river to Shipley Bridge with one or two brief descents to give you some respite. There is then a tarmac section (though still slightly uphill) before you get out onto Dartmoor, turning right at the Avon Dam and crossing below the Abbotβs Way and heading south east, and emerging near the boundary fence which takes you south, close to the head of the Harbourne exiting the moor near Dockwell farm. The route then heads back via the infamously muddy Brent Hill and Lydia Bridge.
This is a tough race and not for the faint-hearted.
The moor is stunning, beautiful and wild at night. I'm not sure I'd consider running that route solo, but in a friendly group of runners, with cameraderie rather than competition, it was amazing.

Such a great event, very sociable and atmospheric. The moor is stunning, beautiful and wild at night. I'm not sure I'd consider running that route solo, but in a friendly group of runners, with cameraderie rather than competition, it was amazing. Fran G
What other event includes a world famous saxophonist playing madonna hits just for fun? Wear a headtorch, squelch and prance, dance like over boggy moorland, lung busting hills, roller coaster country roads. Many will fall, all will arrive breathless and grinning, ready for hot Daal grub and local beer. See you next time. Robert C
It was actually wild! Awesome grass roots race supporting and keeping the trail running community alive. Challenging course with challenging conditions thrown in. Supportive staff, runners and volunteers throughout. I'd come back next year. Jonathan H
Brilliant, one of a kind event. A real challenge, great atmosphere and excellent logistics. Thank you. Becca F
Brilliant race, made more memorable by the rain, wind and hills. Oh, the hills. But amazing. Thoroughly recommend. James W
Fantastic race and a great introduction into night running. Everyone I met was so friendly, a fantastic Saturday night out in the mud, bogs and rain on Dartmoor. Gemma E
As soon as Iβd finished I was indoors with my shoes and socks off and tucking into the fantastic food on offer from the Kitchen Table, amazing! Will definitely do it again! James H
Great event and amazing night race, putting you right on Dartmoor. Mark B
