Event overview
It's a 7-hour cut off with a mass start. Your race, your pace, your distance!
Choose your start time between 9am for a 7-hour event, or 11am for a 5-hour event.
Pick the challenge that suits you: 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, Full Marathon, or Ultra, and let the route do the rest:
- 5K & 10K | An out-and-back course with a turnaround point, making for a friendly, social atmosphere
- Half Marathon | One full loop
- Full Marathon | Two loops
- Ultra | Two loops plus the run to the 5K turnaround point
The course follows the Windmill Way route through Golding Hills, passing through the villages of Higham, Gazeley, Ashley, Dalham, and Denham. It's an all-road route with rolling hills and around 600ft of elevation; it's scenic and varied. Keep an eye out for the iconic windmill at Dalham, and just before it, look left for sweeping views of Dalham Hall.
An aid station with drinks and snacks is set up every 10K, and Race HQ doubles as Base Camp at the start and lap point. Parking is included in your entry price.
Every finisher receives a bespoke event medal. Prefer a lucky dip? If available, you can choose the lucky dip finisher option and pick from a selection of previous finisher medals instead.
This event is cupless. Please bring your own bottle or cup for refilling at the aid stations.

A well organised, fun event for beginners to advanced. Mark P
Thanks for a great day out with great marshals, and the very best runners too. John W
I love this race. If you’re not sure whether to commit to a zig-zag event then DO IT. They’re by far my favourite. Kat A-H
A great route, superb support and a nice cup of tea and cake at the end to warm up. Kerry M
Absolutely brilliant. Thanks for putting on such a well organised, supportive event. I loved all of it. Really good marshals and volunteers, well-stocked and regular aid stations, and a very friendly and supportive atmosphere. I’ll be back. Paul H
Absolutely brilliant, fun, challenging, and well organised. Leon S
Extremely friendly event, all round brilliant. Lorraine C
Hilly! Completed my first half marathon today. Some really big hills, hard but enjoyable, I’ll be back for more. Chris L
Always most agreeable. I am a slow runner. Cara L
