Come along and take part in the new Women’s 10K Glasgow! Maybe you’ve not done any exercise in a while and need a goal to motivate you, maybe you want to do something positive together with your friends and family, or maybe you want to fundraise for a worthwhile cause.

Whatever your reason, the Women’s 10K is the perfect opportunity for you to lace up those trainers and make a difference, either to your own life or someone else’s.

This event brings together a strong, supportive community of women who come together to make a positive change, without stigmas or judgment. Even if you haven't exercised in a while and need a goal - get involved!

Walkers

You are welcome to complete the course at your own pace, however, there is a maximum time limit of 1 hour 30 minutes. This is very inclusive as even completing the route at a relatively slow walking pace will see you finish within 1 hour and 30 minutes. If you plan to walk the whole distance you are requested to allow runners to start in front of you.

Pre-event runner bus ticket

An event bus service will operate between George Square (run finish point) and Riverside Museum (run start point). This ticket can be used if you are planning to use public transport or park near George Square and want to travel to the start area. 

  • 09:05 | Runners should arrive in George Square (at the Junction of George Street and John Street) 
  • 09:15 | Service departs from George Square
  • 09:35 | Runners arrive at the Riverside Museum (run start point)

Post-event runner bus ticket

An event bus service will operate between George Square (run finish point) and Riverside Museum (run start point). This ticket can be used if you have parked at the start area and need to travel back to this location after the event. 

  • 11:15 - 12:30 | Service runs regularly between these times from George Square (at the Junction of George Street and John Street) to the Riverside Museum
  • Journey time | Approximately 20 minutes
BUS TRANSPORT
The route is point to point, so there are buses to help you move between the start and finish locations.

Route description

The route heads east along the River Clyde and takes in the scenic views. Iconic buildings to look out for include the Glasgow Science Centre, The Armadillo, The SECC and the SSE Hydro and all within the first 2KM.

The route then heads over the Clyde and back, crossing over the 'Squiggly Bridge' and then George V Bridge. You will then start heading through the hustle and bustle of Glasgow's city centre heading up Buchanan Street just before you hit half way!

The second half of the route will take you past the south side of George Square and down towards Glasgow Green, taking in the beautiful park including the infamous People's Palace, before heading back towards George Square where cheering crowds await to help in one last effort to cross the finish line where you’ll receive your well earned medal, water and goody bag.
