Great event for beginners to get into triathlon, old mining pit, venue now has museum so good facilities. Water quality not great, got a sinus infection, may need nose clip and not a fast swim due to reeds/algae. The bike route was nice, in the morning now so not too many cars, entrance back to transition had quite a large pot hole and saw a few riders come in too fast and come down. The run was nice around the lake and with the public did get quite busy but was okay. Craig B

A great location for a triathlon. Great weather for it to. It started in the afternoon which felt really weird. Lake swim to begin which was very weedy and got caught everywhere. Set off in three's but it still felt crampped on the swim. Long run up to transition. Lovely bike route sweeping the coastal route. Only bad bit was getting caught up behind cars stopping, lost all speed and then got over taken. Could happen to anyone. Looped run of the lake to finish. Peter B
