Event overview

The day marks the birthday of Frederick Banting, who is noted as the co-discoverer of insulin. 2 members of our team are type 1 diabetics and so have to rely on insulin injections several times a day. 3.1 mile mile loop - flat tarmac path with a short section on gravel path. Complete as many or as few laps as you wish within the 6 hour time limit. For those wanting to go for long distances, a 1/2 marathon complete 4 laps + short out & back, marathon 8 laps + short out & back and ultra 9+ laps. As long as you complete one lap then you will be a finisher and receive an official time and post race gift. We will keep you going with drinks as well as sweet and savoury snacks. All finishers will receive a medal. To try and keep costs down and have more funds available to donate to charity we will not be handing out our usual standard of medal.

4 steps to wellbeing
Sleep well

A good night's sleep is an essential foundation for a healthy lifestyle, effective training and weight control.

Train slow

Low-intensity training is easier for you, reduces the risk of injury and helps builds an efficient aerobic system.

Eat natural

Cut out sugar & junk food, reduce carbs, eat natural foods and train your body to burn fat for fuel.

Get outdoors

Fresh air, natural light and reconnecting with nature all help to improve mental and physical wellbeing.
