Itinerary
Tuesday 17 June - Online event briefing
Two weeks before the event, you and your team will attend an online event briefing where you will get a full brief and overview of the event ahead of the day. You'll have the chance to ask any final questions.
Friday 4 July – Event registration
Arrive at the event base to check in, receive your race pack and event t-shirt, and drop off your bags for the next morning.
Saturday 5 July – Challenge day
Complete all three elements with your team, then celebrate with a BBQ and reflect on your impressive achievement.
Who is it for?
This challenge is no walk in the park but it's do-able by anyone who's willing to train for it and who can last for 8-9 hours. See if you've got what it takes.

Training guide
You will receive a training guide in your welcome pack.
SheRACES
Pedal Paddle Peak has been officially endorsed and accredited by SheRACES, a Community Interest Company (CIC) that exists to level the start line and enable more women to take part in races and events, and have good experiences when they do.
Bikes
Bike type
Road, hybrid or e-bikes.
If you’re bringing your own bike along to the event, a road or hybrid bike is recommended.
Being an on-road route, mountain bikes wouldn’t be the first recommendation; however, if this is what you’ve trained on and you feel confident on it, it's fine for you to use one. The range of gears may help you with some of the hills.
E-bikes
Teams using E-bikes would be excluded from the Fastest Finishers Awards to make this fair to other teams.
Bike hire
There's a bike hire service (£50pp) which includes:
- Two-day hire (Friday and Saturday)
- Helmet
- Bike delivery and collection
- Support with any adjustments to the bike at registration
- Secure storage overnight
- Bike mechanic service throughout event day
- First aid
- Food stations
- Marshals
- Mountainous
- No cut off time
- Toilets
- Undulating
- Water stations
- Way markers
Stage 1 - Pedal 34km
Starting from the event base in Glenridding, your team will tackle a 34km cycle. You’ll pass the famous Aira Force Waterfall, skirt the southern edge of Little Mell Fell, and then travel down the entire length of the Western Shore of Ullswater Lake back to Glenridding, ready for the paddle.

Stage 2 - Paddle 3km
Give your legs a rest on a 3km course on the pristine waters of Ullswater Lake. Teams of two will use two-person sit-on-top kayaks, while teams of four will use two connected open canoes rafted together for stability. Teamwork makes the dream work on this phase!

Stage 3 - Peak 17km
Change into your hiking gear and get ready to climb England’s second-highest peak, the magnificent Helvellyn. From Glenridding, head to Greenside Mines, the ‘base camp’ of Helvellyn. You’ll climb to the summit via the White Side and Lower Man of the mountain, tackling a 17km round trip on a marshalled and signposted route.

I was nervous ahead of Pedal, Paddle, Peak as it was the first time I’d taken part in a challenge and fundraising event. The ease and smoothness from registration the night before until the end was amazing. Each phase pushed the team to the limit. Coming 5th overall and smashing our fundraising target was extremely rewarding. Would definitely recommend! Ali A
