Cats Protection

Since 1927, Cats Protection has been the leading UK charity for cat welfare, helping to re-home over 1.5 million cats and campaign for the welfare of countless more. To help them achieve this kind of success, the charity organise brilliant outdoor events and provide charity places in many more!

What do they do?

Cats Protection is committed to guaranteeing the welfare of cats across the UK in a wide range of scenarios, including:

• Helping people to adopt cats that need a new home.
• Providing support to people who have lost their pet.
• Fostering cats of people going into refuge from domestic violence situations through their Paws Protect scheme.
• Ensuring cat welfare if owners pass away before their pets through the Cat Guardians scheme.
• Neutering cats in their centres to reduce the number of unwanted cats in the UK.
• Campaigning for better protection of cats throughout the country.

Through all of this work, Cats Protection helps an estimated 166,000 cats each year and provides support to their owners to reduce the likelihood of cats requiring protection in the future.

How can you help?

As well as donating to the charity and sponsoring a cat, you can support Cats Protection by signing up to one of their events or entering a major mass participation event through one of their charity places. Any fundraising you generate will support their important work.

Cats Protection organise their own series of UK treks, providing the opportunity for you to take on a major UK mountain like Scafell Pike, Snowdon or Ben Nevis with their support. You can sign up to a challenge like the Lake District Triple Challenge or even the Mount Toubkal Trek in Morocco!

For something closer to home, consider entering a UK run, cycle or triathlon through a Cats Protection charity place. In doing so, you'll receive a branded t-shirt to run and dedicated support for your training and fundraising, helping to elevate your experience and help the charity's great work at the same time.

Cats Protection helps 500 cats and kittens every day, through its 250 volunteer run branches, team of feline experts and 36 centres around the UK. Their aims are re-homing, neutering and education to improve the lives and welfare of cats.

£10 raised could feed a cat in their care for over a week and £50 could provide a traumatised cat with a safe place and bed to sleep.
